An overview of research I conducted on the genetic conservation of Caribbean Breadfruit. This detailed guide traces Breadfruit introduced in the Caribbean to its progenitors in Oceania. It also details the complex historical and cultural history of Breadfruit and discusses the opportunities for sustainable agriculture tied to Breadfruit in the Caribbean today.
Film Projects
In La’Ketch: The Art of Repeating Stories explores the intersection of art, community and land in alternative and marginalized communities across The United States. Three communities are showcased — Twin Oaks International Community (Louisa, Vriginia); a communal living community, Jemez Pueblo (New Mexico); a Native American community, and Chicano Art community (San Diego, California). Each community works to create a more thoughtful and inclusive community.
For the Birds! Long Island is a program of Audubon NY. For the Birds! is an elementary education program that teaches environmental awareness, science, and appreciation of nature through the study of birds. Students participate in interactive in-class lessons, go on school yard bird walks, take a field trip to Jones Beach, and participate in a habitat enhancement project at their school. These videos are introduction to the habitat enhancement projects and graduates from the program.
